Heavy Metal is alive and well in America and beyond. Whether having a fondness for Iron Maiden or other bands of the 80s, many now have bands playing music of these hard core rockers all over the world. In the case of Iron Maiden, the Iron Maidens, an all female tribute rock band out of Los Angeles is rocking the socks off fans all over the map.
Currently, the includes two lead guitarists, a drummer, a bassist and a vocalist. The band went through several line-up changes between 2001 and 2003. While this is the case, there group has seen musicians and come and go since the time the band was founded in 2001.
While the band started working on an initial album in 2003, it was not released until 2005. At that time, Aja Kim had replaced founding member Jenny Warren on vocals. As the band continued as a woman only group, the title Only All Female Iron Maiden Tribute Band was still a fitting one. Whereas, more changes were made to the line-up following the release though the group still retained its women only status.
As well known guitarist Phil Campbell of Motorhead sat in on the 2nd album, sells were somewhat better than the first. At the same time, numbers and profits were to as good as the band had originally hoped. Still, the group moved forward and continued playing in the United States and abroad.
In 2010, the group released a DVD, Metal Gathering Live In Japan 2010. After which, Nikki Stringfield became a regular band member and was officially recognized as the band's guitarist. While the DVD was a big hit in Japan, the DVD was not as successful in the United States and other areas.
Most recently, Stringfield and Rosenberg were contestants on the music game show Beat Shazam in August of 2017. Whereas, the three albums and video remain quite popular on the metal circuit. While there are a few shows scheduled in February 2018, it is not clear as to whether or not there will be a domestic or world tour anytime soon.
Regardless of changes in line-up, the group has often been loved by those in the heavy metal world. As with other tribute bands such as Blue Floyd and Lez Zeppelin, the group has a following. As such, there is no doubt the band will continue to have a fan base as long as there are albums and shows. At the same time, as the band has experienced so many line-up changes, it would most likely benefit the group to keep the current line-up in tact as long as possible.
For more about this heavy metal tribute band, fans can check out a number of videos on YouTube and other video sites. Whereas, the main Facebook page has a number of photos and videos along with a discussion forum and tour dates. Whether viewing a video or seeing the band live, original Iron Maiden fans will no doubt enjoy the memories and music which are reborn through tribute bands.
